Four San Diego comics featured in the North County Times March 11 have advanced to one of the final rounds in a national competition for a $10,000 prize.

The comics are in a contest run by Famecast.org, which also is running competitions for singers, songwriters and other performers. From an original field of 100, online voters who watched the comics’ routines narrowed the field to 10 after a week’s worth of voting that ended March 17.

Left standing are Mark Gonzalez of Encinitas, Aaron Hughes of La Jolla, Erik Knowles of Poway and Stuart Swanson of Oceanside.

Comic Quartez Wynn of Oceanside was eliminated last week.

Comedy fans can vote for their favorite among the remaining top 10 at www.Famecast.com through March 30. That round will narrow the field to five, who will later compete in a live Webcast in Austin, Texas.
