NORTH COUNTY —- Despite some slick roads after an overnight rain storm, no severe traffic crashes have been reported so far this morning in north San Diego County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Highway 78 east-west connector was moving well in both directions, and there was the usual slowing in the southbound lanes of interstates 5 and 15.

Along the coast, commuters were down to 17 mph at Leucadia Boulevard on southbound Interstate 5 in Encinitas. Traffic continued crawling south until picking up speed again in Del Mar.

Inland, drivers were braking to 5 mph on southbound Interstate 15 at Valley Parkway in Escondido. The typical struggle to get through the southern end of the city ended going into Rancho Bernardo.

More rain is expected today, and authorities were urging drivers to slow down on damp pavement.
