ENCINITAS – A stocky gunman in a baseball cap robbed a North County bank today, authorities reported.
The thief pulled a pistol on a teller at Southwest Community Bank on North El Camino Real in Encinitas and demanded cash shortly after 9 a.m., sheriff’s Lt. Jim Nolan said.
The bandit, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, the lieutenant said.
