ENCINITAS — An Encinitas man died Sunday at Scripps Memorial Hospital from injuries he received in a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, authorities said.

The county medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Kristopher Slight, 23, who worked in sales.

Slight and another man were speeding in a Ford Explorer on Birmingham Drive at 2:15 a.m. Saturday when they struck the back of a Chevrolet Silverado that was stopped at a traffic light, sheriff’s officials said. The Explorer rolled three times, ejecting the driver. Both men were taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital, Encinitas, where Slight died at about noon Sunday.

Slight is survived by his mother, a medical examiner’s investigator said.
