Encinitas: Great beach town with some great places to eat

about 20 miles.

I lived in Encinitas for a few years and I absolutely love the place. It’s located about 20 miles from downtown, San Diego and is home to the infamous Swami’s surf break. There is a main strip right on the 101 Pacific Coast high way with many bars, restaurants and stores. D-street is where there is a big staircase leading to Moonlight beach. D-street lounge is a lot of fun, and located right in the center of everything. Best burritos are at Fillibertos, you have to try there California burito, only 4 bucks. Right across the street is Kailani’s and they have the best Spamusubi’s (spam sushi rolls) for only $1.50, great for a quick bite. There are also really nice high end restaurants and a great Thai place next to the Japanese restaurant on the main strip.
