SAN DIEGO — San Diego National Bank says that it had net earnings of $15.14 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, an 87 percent increase compared with $8.1 million for the same quarter in 2005.
Full-year earnings for 2006 were $39.67 million, an increase of 15 percent from $34.39 million for the previous year.
The bank has North County branches in Carlsbad, Encinitas, Escondido, Oceanside, Rancho Bernardo, San Marcos and Vista.
Xenonics brings in slightly less
CARLSBAD — Xenonics Holdings Inc. says that for the first quarter of fiscal 2007, ended Dec. 31, revenue was $916,000, compared with $920,000 for the first quarter of fiscal 2006.
The net loss for the three months ended Dec. 31 was $406,000 or 2 cents per share, compared with a net loss for the same three months ended Dec. 31, 2005, of $926,000, or 6 cents per share.
Xenonics makes light sources and low-light viewing devices for the military, law enforcement, public safety and other customers.
Regional aviation group plans tourney

SpaceDev subsidiary to move
POWAY — SpaceDev Inc., based in Poway, has signed a lease on a new 72,000-square-foot development and manufacturing center in the Colorado Technology Center in Louisville, Colo., for its subsidiary, Starsys Inc. Starsys will be relocating from its center in Boulder, Colo., in March.
The space technology/aerospace company also announced that it recently won the Poway Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year Award for 2006.
Team chosen for desalination plant
CARLSBAD — Poseidon Resources Corp. has chosen a team to design, engineer, construct and start up the Carlsbad seawater desalination project. The team consists of American Water, in joint venture with Pridesa America Corp.; Escondido-based J.R. Filanc Construction Co.; and PBS&J, which has a branch in Encinitas. Ferguson Pape Baldwin Architects, which has developed major projects in North County such as the Dove Library in Carlsbad and the Genentech manufacturing facility in Oceanside, will provide the architectural services.
The $270 million plant is scheduled to start operating as early as 2009.
Xenonics receives $1.7M order
CARLSBAD — Xenonics Holdings Inc., which makes light sources and low-light viewing devices for the military, law enforcement, public safety and other customers, has received a $1.7 million purchase order for its new SuperVision digital night viewing device from Kaltron Outdoors in Bensenville, Ill., an importer and distributor of products for the shooting sports market.
U.S. Microbics announces new unit
CARLSBAD — U.S. Microbics says that it has formed a business unit to research and apply its microbial blends for use in the production processes of biodiesel and ethanol from organic material sources such as corn and sugar cane.
Biodiesel and ethanol are alternative fuel sources.
Lender Support forms alliance
POWAY — Lender Support Systems Inc., a provider of lending and loan servicing technology solutions, and Portellus Inc., a software solution provider for the mortgage and insurance industries, have announced an alliance.
