KFMB/News 8 recently reported that out of all the San Diego county cities, Encinitas had the largest increase in juvenile arrest rates in 2005; 46 percent!
In San Diego, the number of juveniles arrested on weapons charges has increased 14 percent over the past five years, according to the latest SANDAG crime report.
And while juveniles represent just 13 percent of the county’s overall population, criminal kids account for 35 percent of all weapons arrests, 28 percent of robbery arrests and 26 percent of burglary arrests.

Is that an increase from say, 3 arrest or 25 or 100 or what?
Are our local punk kids hiding shanks, stealing old ladies purses or smashing your car window and stealing your i-pod? What kind of crimes are these evil little bastards committing in our quaint little village by the sea?
The television news is very good into striking fear into your heart by being stingy with real information.
Maybe the North Count Times or the Coast News will do a story with less hype and more information.
