OCEANSIDE – Firefighters doused a three-acre blaze along the San Luis Rey River Monday night in the area where about 35 fires have been set in the past month.
The latest blaze broke out shortly after 8 p.m. off eastbound lanes of state Route 76 near Canyon Drive and Benet Road. No injuries were reported, a North Comm dispatcher said.
Fire crews from Oceanside, Encinitas and Camp Pendleton responded.
Officials have said that previous fires along the riverbed were arson. No homes have been damaged.
