ENCINITAS ---- A benefit birthday bash will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at the Dance North County Studio, 535 Encinitas Blvd., Suite 100, Encinitas. Music provided by DJ Keith will feature swing, Latin, nighclub and ballroom dancing.

Dance North County Studio master partner dance instructor Christy Johnson is one of the sponsors for this event because her 11-year-old son was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes this summer, which is why all of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The event will also celebrate her "Big 5-0" birthday. Volunteers are still needed.
